An anonymous benefactor gifted me with a month's worth of premium access.... to whom I am VERY grateful! I haven't been as busy with my camera as I was while still living in NYC; as a person who most easily finds beauty in vibrant cities, Upstate's photographic gems have been a bit more difficult to find. This actually inspires me though... It's been far too long since I've been able to enjoy the process of wandering about, finding something to catch my eye, and trying to convey the feeling I get when in its presence to those who view the finished image. So, I just downloaded rawtherapee for Ubuntu and will give it a whirl. http://rawtherapee.com/ Free alternative to Lightroom, which I feel bad for always using a "trial" version.... OK it's not a trial, but a crack on OSX. My Linux machine is a lot more powerful than my Mac Mini (AMD six-core, 16GB RAM vs Core2 Duo 8GB) and has all the storage I'd need with RAID and such. Another option of course would be to run Windows in a VM on the machine, but that seems like a waste just to run one program and not have direct access to the hardware.
